Basic quality education for all learners is the primary goal of Baclaran Elementary School Central. In order to realize its academic goals, the school head, teachers and school personnel together with the LGU and other stakeholders work hand in hand in providing the needs of diverse learners.
So much so that everyone has to pull out all its resources and planning of every activities,innovations as well as interventions are the main focus in order to develop their skills and talents. Conducting Teacher’s Quality Circle (TQC) or LAC is done to share best practices, explore for better interventions for improving strategies/techniques in the delivery of learning. Classroom schedule and programs are based on curriculum requirements and learners’ needs. Madrasah/Alive Education is mainstreamed in the class program. It is very evident that Sped teachers’ skills are honed and upgraded to ensure quality inclusive education for learners with special needs. Involved team in the feeding program worked together with some sponsors to provide nourishment to wasted and severely wasted learners. Reading as a basic tool in acquiring literary and numeracy skills has been prioritize among all other programs in the school.
Some activities were carried out in order to improve the reading level of every learner most especially the struggling and non-readers. Twelve O’clock Habit where learners spend thirty minutes in reading stories and answering the comprehension check-up, PEER (Partner in Enhancing English Reading), Intensive Reading Remediation for Grade I are some of the programs being practiced. Monitoring of reading programs is being conducted by master teachers with the PSDS to ensure that reading level has been improved. In spite of the onset of COVID-19 pandemic, school head and teachers tried their best to finish needed reports of learners and waited for updates on basic education learning continuity plan so that no learners will be left behind in this trying time.
