Baclaran Elementary School Central (BESC) Brigada Eskwela Kicked Off 2022 was a success as it promotes collaboration and resiliency in basic education.
The Kick-Off Parade highlighted through the Kick-Off Parade on August 10, 2022 at 8:00 AM to 9: 00AM in Baclaran area which were participated by teaching and non-teaching personnel, students, parents, alumni and outside stakeholders.
It was immediately followed by a short program with the theme “ Brigada Eskwela: Tugon sa Hamon ng Ligtas na Balik- Aral” that highlights the collaborative efforts from school teaching and non-teaching personnel, community, and other partners to ensure the safety of the students, deliver quality and accessible education and gradually reintroduce the shift from blended learning setup to 5 days of face-to-face classes.
“Siguraduhin natin ligtas na makakabalik sa kanilang pag-aaral ang ating estudyante sa kabila ng kumakalat na virus at iba pang elemento na makikita sa paligid” Ma. Carina L Bautista, School head, reiterated in her welcome remarks during the program. Bautista also encouraged the community to donate Covid- kit, cleaning materials, and manpower to clean the classroom and school campus. Baranggay Captain Jun Zaide and Brgy. Counselor Carlito Vacal were invited in the said program.
One-week Brigada Eskwela were participated by Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) personnel, Paranaque Disaster Risks Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO) and Fraternal Order of Eagles Philippines in cleaning the school campus, beautification of school garden, and transferring some school chairs, cabinets and tables to another building and clearing operation. Training on Basic Life Support was shared by Philippine Coastguard Medical Team. They also donated disposable PPEs, facemasks, alcohol, and first aid kit. One day Medical Mission -Dental, Surgical, Optical Services was initiated by Eagles Philippines. To keep fit and healthy Zumba Brigada was held at BESC gymnasium which were actively participated by teachers, parents and guests sponsored by Mr. Conrado Olayvar. There was also a distribution of school supplies to selected (less fortunate) donated by Julius Ladigohon, Police Major Brent Ian Salazar. AP Cargo also donated school supplies for less fortunate students. Feeding program for feeding beneficiaries and haircut was sponsored by Julius Ladigohon and Vincent Mangosing. Food sponsorship, personal hygiene, cleaning materials were given by individual donors. Brigada T-shirt for teaching and non-teaching personnel and volunteered parents were sponsored by Barangay Sk Chairperson, Rachel Garcia. Everybody done their part through supports and donations.
BE was also simultaneously done with ongoing smooth flow of enrollment which facilitated by the assigned teachers per grade level.
The said event highlighted the advocacies of different institutions and organizations to bring out the spirit of giving and service through their donations and manpower. This was done to make students, parents, and teachers ready for the opening of classes through deep teamwork and camaraderie. The Bayanihan spirit of all stakeholders of BESC are now ready to embrace the new normal and take on the challenge of the new normal for life-long learning. BE won’t be possible without the Brigada committee headed by Mrs. Irene G. Martinez, Brigada coordinator and unrelenting support of the school head.
